Our paid teachers plan the curriculum, but we need volunteers to serve as valued helpers. We ask parents to follow their own interests in choosing whether to volunteer in the classrooms or elsewhere in the programs. Many parents enjoy the opportunity to attend the Sunday services where they nurture their own spirutual needs. Some parents like working with children and youth in the classrooms, either regularly or occasionally.
Our religious education program is a cooperative ministry. We ask all parents and guardians with children or youth in the program to volunteer. Scan the volunteer categories below to discover how you can enrich our programs with your contribution.
Would you like to teach one of our classes, help with the Youth Group, or work with the Our Whole Lives group?
Provide assistance to our Lead Teachers on Sunday mornings, helping with activities, set up and clean up, snack, games, and general classroom support. This is a one and a half hour commitment, on Sunday mornings, once every 4-6 weeks.
Do you have an artistic or crafty side, an interest in theater and worship arts, or want to learn some of these crafts? Help with Chalice Chapel Sundays — the first Sunday of every month — and help with special multi-generational worship services, 3-4 times/year.
Do you know your way around Twitter, Instagram, and emerging social media forms? Help us reach out to a wider circle. Commitment of 3-4 hours/month.
Do you love wee ones? Assist our paid childcare provider by helping out once or twice a month with our toddlers during the first or second service.
Interested in a committee role that helps you build your own Unitarian Universalist knowledge and spirituality while helping nurture our young people?
