California's Prop 8 Still in Effect

On August 4, 2010 Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker ruled that the California Proposition 8 which banned same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. However, he issued a temporary stay which keeps the law in effect until arguments are heard and a decision is made on recinding the law during the appeal process. Many in California are celebrating.
