How can a USA nonprofit and an NGO in remote East Africa create and implement a self-sustaining system to care for and educate the many children orphaned by AIDS and/or malaria so they become productive members of society?
Songea’s Kids, a local, all-volunteer organization, works with Tanzanian partners to support orphans and other vulnerable children. In Mshangano Village, population 14,100, Songea’s Kids is building Hope Village, the first housing for 160 of the most vulnerable children, along with a health clinic, pre-primary school, and vocational school.
All money collected at EUUC will go to a chicken-raising project. This project will be self-sustaining in 18 months and will improve the children’s nutrition as well as providing income.
