Mystery Friends

2010 Schedule

January 10 — registration deadline
January 24 to February 21 — exchange tokens of friendship
February 21 between the services — potluck brunch where mystery friends are revealed

Registration

Register by sending an email with

  • name
  • age group: child, teenager, or adult
  • age, if the registration is for a child
  • email address
  • phone number
  • interests, hobbies, and interesting facts about yourself (this could include allergies, gender preferences for your mystery friend, and any weeks you will be gone)

Making friends across the generations

Adults and teenagers become mystery friends with children for five weeks in January and February. Each child is paired with an adult or teen, and they receive scant information about the other. They might learn their friend's hobbies, gender, and the child's age.

For four weeks the mystery friends exchange notes, small handmade items, candy, and thoughtful tokens of friendship. On the fifth Sunday the mystery friends are revealed at a celebration and potluck brunch.
