Becoming Familiar with EUUC
Your first visit
It can be difficult to come into a large group not knowing anyone or how things are done. To help you feel comfortable and welcome during your visits, here are a few tips.
What to wear
Dress at Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Church (EUUC) is casual and allows for individual style. Children usually wear play clothes, and most adults wear anything from nice jeans to casual business attire.
Stop by the Welcome Desk
- The volunteers at the Welcome Desk will give you a guest nametag so EUUC members will know that you are new to the church.
- Stay informed about activities and events by signing up for our monthly Newsletter and weekly e-Bulletin. Talk with someone at the Welcome Desk about subscribing.
- Look through the brochures about our church and denomination. You will find these fliers in a rack opposite the Welcome Desk.
- Chat with other newcomers and members at the Newcomers' Coffee table in the Narthex after Sunday services.
After a few visits
- Enroll your child in a religious education class. Children may visit and attend classes a few times before they are enrolled.
- Review the list of classes being offered in adult religious education.
- Find a committee you would like to join. Some people enjoy volunteering to help run the church and help provide the services that members and friends enjoy. People also join committees, like Peace & Justice, that work to improve people's lives or the environment.
- Explore the interest groups to find one that sparks your passion. Contact the group leader to join or to learn more about a particular group.
Ask Questions
- Make an appointment to meet our interim minister, Reverend Charlotte Cowtan.
You can reach her through the church office at 425.778.0373 or by
emailing her.
- Newcomers are invited to contact
the Membership Committee with questions.
