If you use the Mac mail application to access your personal email, then you might want to also handle your @euuc.org emails in Mac mail. If so, follow these steps.

The email settings that work on one computer might not work on another one, because they are driven by the email application, the internet service provider, and the hosting company all communicating together.
These settings were successful with one member's Mac OS X.5.

DreamHost has excellent instructions for setting up your account with Mac Mail: http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Mac_OS_X_Mail. Either follow the DreamHost instructions, or follow the ones below.
Open Apple Mail. Click Preferences and then the + to configure a new account. Ener this information:
Description: EUUC
Email address: first.last@euuc.org (for which first.last includes your first and last names)
Full name: your first and last names
Incoming mail server: mail.euuc.org
User name: first.last@euuc.org (for which first.last includes your first and last names)
Password: type the password for your EUUC email account

Click on the blue arrow on the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) line and select Edit Server List and then click Advanced to verify that Use default ports is selected and SSL is on. When done, click OK.

If you want to control whether drafts, junk mail, sent mail and more is stored on the server, click Mailbox Behaviors.
The incoming IMAP server will try to synchronize the mail between your computer and the server. If you don't want IMAP to synchronize everything, you can uncheck the boxes next to the categories you don't want to be duplicated on the server. Here is how one member configured her synchronization.

Click Advanced. Enter 143 for the port and uncheck the SSL box. You are done.
