DreamHost has excellent instructions for setting up your account in MSN, Live, or Hotmail: http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Windows_Live_Mail. Either follow the DreamHost instructions, or follow the ones below.
Log into your Live or Hotmail account at www.msn.com, www.live.com or www.hotmail.com, then open your inbox. This screen is for Nancy Samuels' account. Look for your name in your window and two lines below that is Options.

Click on Options and Select More Options.

Under Managing your account click on Sending/receiving email from other accounts.

Here is the account setup panel. To receive mail from your EUUC email account, click Add an Email Account under You can receive mail from these accounts.

Now, we'll show the steps to get MSN/Hotmail/Live set up to receive and send mail. Fill in your email account and password. Click Next.

MSN, Live or Hotmail will try to guess the other information it needs. You will probably get an error message because it guessed incorrectly for the server address. Here is the correct information:

Now you can choose where you want new emails from your EUUC account to appear. In the following example, we typed "EUUC" so the new messages will be stored in a separate folder. If you just want the new messages to appear in your inbox, click An existing folder.

Finally, you will receive the following screen. Click Continue to Hotmail.

Now you see your new send and receive accounts are set up, but there is a message in red, Waiting for verification.

Return to your inbox and check for an email message from MSN, Hotmail, or Live. If you created a folder for your EUUC email, your message will be in that folder. The image below shows the Inbox directory with EUUC(1) in bold meaning that there is one unread message in that folder. Click on EUUC(1) Then click the verification link in the email sent from MSN, Hotmail, or Live to complete the setup process.
