What is a moderator?

The moderator of discussion list is the person who manages the list. The moderator invites people to join and ensures that everyone who ought to be part of the communication circle has been invited to join.

If someone outside the group posts a message to the list, it will come to the moderator who approves or denies the posting. This eliminates spam from outsiders. Once a year you should look at the list of members, and if there are any that should be removed, send those email addresses to the Discussion List Coordinator with a request to have those people removed.
