Support EUUC

Working toward environmental and economic sustainability

This committee promotes environmental and economic sustainability globally and locally. The global focus is on supporting movements that provide sustainable economic opportunities for those living in developing countries. A major activity is a Fair Trade Market held in November and December of each year with the proceeds donated to microbank projects.

The local focus is on promoting earth-friendly practices within EUUC and throughout the larger community. We write a monthly column in the EUUC Newsletter, “Gentler Footprints,” with ideas for reducing one’s impact on the earth. Our other activities include replacing the lighting at EUUC with CFLs, developing more recycling opportunities at EUUC, sponsoring workshops, selling products that support our goals, and caring for a wetlands portion of the church property.
