February – Boistfort Valley Community Foundation
The Boistfort Valley Community Foundation provides meals and needed items to those who have been dislocated due to the flood near Chehalis.
March – Religious Coalition for Equality
The Religious Coalition for Equality is an interfaith organization of progressive clergy and lay persons committed to marriage equality for all people, including same sex couples. The Religious Coalition for Equality also supports legislation that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
The work our offering recipient does embodies three of our Seven Principles: “the inherent worth and dignity of every person”; “justice, equity and compassion in human relations”; and “…peace, liberty, and justice for all.”
Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Church has been a welcoming congregation since 1996, providing a welcome place for gay, lesbian, bisexual, intersex, and transgender people. We have supported the Gay Pride parade for many years. Now we have the opportunity to support a group that, as UUA President Reverend Bill Sinkford says, “stands on the side of love.”
