Sermon Media Choices

Can I read or listen to a sermon I missed?

Listening to Reverend Charlotte Cowtan in the Sunday service is the best way to enjoy her sermons. But, it is no longer the only choice. You can subscribe to the podcast, listen to most of her sermons online, or borrow an audio recording.

Subscribe to the Podcast

To have Reverend Charlotte Cowtan's sermons automatically available on your computer or mobile device, subscribe to the podcast. Nearly all her sermons are included in the podcast, but sermons delivered by others are rarely podcast.

Before you subscribe to a podcast, you need to have a podcatcher—also called an RSS feed reader—installed on your computer or mobile device. (RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.)

After you have a podcatcher, you can subscribe to the podcast by clicking on one of these links:

Listen Online

From the Sermons page just click on "Listen" next to the sermon title you want to hear and your default audio player will begin downloading and playing the sermon. These audio files are in MP3 format and are large—up to 15 MB. Consequently, you might need to wait a minute or two before the sermon begins to play.

Save the Audio Recording

You may prefer to save the audio recording for later listening on your computer or MP3 player. To save the file on your computer, go to the Sermons page and right-click (in Windows) or control-click (on a Mac) on "Listen" next to the title of the sermon you want to hear. Then, follow the prompts to save the file.

Borrow an Audio Recording

The Sound Operators record the services and produce cassette tapes and CDs. Stop by the Library to borrow one of the recordings.
